What is Handshake?

Handshake is a career platform used by the University of Cincinnati where students, career centers, and recruiters come to meet, talk, and share opportunities.

Who may have a Handshake account?

All current students who are enrolled at the University of Cincinnati have a Handshake account.

Additionally, all UC alumni can request a Handshake account

How do I log in to Handshake?

Current Students

If you are an enrolled UC student, a Handshake account has likely already been created for you.

  1. Go to the UC Handshake login page
  2. Click on "University of Cincinnati Login"
  3. Log In with your UC username and password

Alumni

If you have never had a Handshake account and would like to request one, please follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the UC Handshake login page
  2. Click on "Sign up for an Account" and select "Student/Alumni"
  3. Complete the request form, including your M number, so we can confirm your status and approve your account. If you do not know your M number, please contact the Registrar's Office to obtain it.
  4. Please allow three to five business days for your request to be processed.

Handshake Homepage

The homepage shows your dashboard, which includes relevant jobs and events based on your career interests. The top navigation bar has tabs for more functions.

Help

It is important to us that you feel comfortable using Handshake. If you need help, chances are that someone else has had the same problem. Here are some ways to get answers:

  1. From the For You page, click Your Name on the top navigation bar. Select Help. Browse through the frequently asked questions and responses.
  2. Visit the Handshake Help Center for answers to many common questions.
  3. See a peer career coach during walk-in hours.
